Talk about political correctness! Hobbton High School in Sampson County, N.C. has banned the American flag on clothing, even for 9/11.
Gayle Langston said her daughter Jessica wanted to hear her stars and stripes and stripes t-shirt, but couldn't. "Today she wanted to wear her shirt and I had to tell her no said Langston. Of all days, 9/11 she couldn't wear her American flag shirt.
According to the school, this policy stems from a controversy that became about because of students wearing flags from other countries. The superintendent of schools in Sampson County calls the unfortunate but said that educators " did not want to be forced to pick and choose which flags should be permissible."
Pick and choose? We are in the United States of America.. at least for right now anyway. So..why not let students wear OUR flag. I'm sure this is to avoid problems stemming from wearing the flag of other countries.. like say Mexico.. hmm.. that could cause confrontations. It seems this is denying AMERICAN CITIZENS their rights. Political correctness run amuck again!
