Fred Thompson Announces For President

Now that Fred Thompson has announced, will he win the Republican nomination.. and is he worthy of it?

It seems like the longing for another Ronald Reagan has led those in the Republican party who support his candidacy to become enamored of Thompson. They were both actors... and it's there that the comparisons stop in my opinion. Thomnpson is not as accomplished as several others in the race such as Romney , Giuliani or even John McCain.

The publicity Thompson has gotten strikes me as a bit odd in light of all the other candidates in the race and his relative lack of accomplishment as a political figure. My guess is that Thompson will finish third Behind Giuliani and Romney in the race for the Republican nomination.

There is a longing for a real leader in the Republican Party. I just don't think that rergardless of how much publicity he receives.. or how much he is tauted by the press and backers...he is that person.
