Penn State students sunk to a new low this week when they dressed as victims of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre. The photos were first seen on Facebook and outraged Virginia Tech students and people across the nation. In them, 2 Penn State students are seen with make-up that portrays blood and bullet holes in the Virginia Tech t-shirts they are wearing as a Halloween costume.
Penn State officials quickly condemned the actions and rightly so, sighting insensentivity and decency concerns. As one who is all for expression and speech, this is still sick. What should be done in this case?
Another group os students on facebook quickly organized a group called " People Against The Costume," and some even left threatening messages.
"This is a group of college students who now think it's trendy to be upset about their friends being killed," one of the two Penn State students who wore the costume said. "I don't know what they teach people in Virginia Tech, but at Penn State we don't learn to threaten people with murder to teach them that murdering is wrong."
He goes on to defend the pictures.
"
The thing is, everybody's making a big stink about Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech was 32 deaths out of the 26 thousand that happen in America everyday," he said. "That's the problem with college students. They all live in an ivory tower of privilege. They don't understand, when it all boils down to it, it's someone wearing a costume."
Reaction from Tech students and Blacksburg residents was disgust.
"That somebody would have the nerve to mock [the victims]. They were really good people," said local business owner, Carol Gwin.
Gwin knew three of the victims in the shootings and considered them cherished friends.
If the people who did cannot this do not have the ability to comprehend how wrong this is, then should they even be in college in the first place?

LA TIMES: CNN " CORRUPT NEWS NETWORK"
When the L.A. Times calls their mainstream brothers at CNN , the " corrupt news network, "you know things are bad. All this stemming from the ridiculous performance of CNN in hosting this week's Republican debate.
The newspaper excoriated CNN for choosing ridiculous questions on the confedarate flag among other things in the farce of a " debate" that saw a supposed planted Clinton supporter asking a question on gays in the military. There were supposedly over 5,000 YouTube choices to choose from and this is the best they can do? The network deserves to be criticized and should relinquish any plans to host debates if this really is the best they can do.
Let's have substantive talks in the future please about the economy, the war in Iraq, and so forth. Immigration is a key issue, but is it really necessary to keep putting Mitt Romney in position of defending his Mormon faith? It would be nice to see those who host debates be serious journalists from now on and not come off like political hacks.

British Newspaper Project Finds " America Hates Hillary And Co."
The Telegraph, a London newspaer has revealed some interesting findings from a year long study they recently completed called "Crossing America: a political odyssey. "
The daily London newspaper crisscrossed America and interviewed people all over the heartland of America and beyond to get a take on what Americans really think about their choices for America's next President ,and Americans views on politics and politicians in general.
The odyssey began inPortland, Maine and went to San Diego, Calif., with the return leg starting in the suburbs of Seatlle and ending in Florida's beaches.
What was very apparent was that Americans by and large, especially in the heartland despise Hillary Clinton, who the magazind described as " hated" and the findings revealed that she was liked by those " few and far between." However many said they would vote for her because she would be the Dmocratic candidate and was " battle tested " against the Republicans. And some women it was noted, said they would vote for her because she is a woman.

Dollar Falls To Record Lows
The dollar has fallen to record lows against the Euro in trading Friday. The 13 nation European currency is now worth 1.4966 U. S. dollars. Speculation is that this is being brought about due to the credit crisis in U.S. markets, and that another credit rate cut will occur.
While the expected rate cuts are a plus, this certainly does not bode well for the dollar and the U. S. economy in the long run. James Hughes, an analyst at CMC markets says" once again the message is that with further rate cuts expected from the Fed, the dollar is struggling to find any serious supporters. "
The Euro, the British pound and other currencies have been rising against the dollar since August . The underlying concern is the financial disaster looming in the subprime credit crisis. With oil at $98 per barrel , an unstable economy , an enormously expensive war in Iraq, and a retiring baby boomer genaration set to retire, where does that leave us economically?

Hillary " Broadly Supports" Licensing Illegals
Trying to avoid a "John Kerryesque " moment from the last Democratic presidential debate, Hillary Clinton now says she supports states' efforts to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens.
Clinton was roundly criticized for her avoidance of a simple question from journalist Tim Russert on whether she supported NY Governor Elliott Spitzer's move to license illegals' in that state. It appeared she may one day say she was against it before she was for it.. or vice versa.
Good to know where Hillary stands...and that she'll probably pay a price in the general election in 2008. Either way she is now on the record. Clinton's argument is that driver's hit by undocumented immigrants and those in the shadows who need to come out would be helped, is touching, if seemingly insincere. Pandering for Hispanic votes and making access to the polls easier for illegal immigrants in 2008 is more likely.

Spitzer Setting The Stage For Massive Voter Fraud
New York Governor Elliott Spitzer appears to be setting the stage for helping Senator Hillary Clinton in he 2008 election should she run against Republican Rudy Giuliani . Spitzer has oredered state clerks to issue driver's licenses and allow those with driver's licenses to register to vote even if they have no social security cards.
Sheer insanity? Not really. A blatant effort to secure votes for the Democratic party in 2008?
Almost certainly. The New York state legislature, heavily Democratic, beat back an effort today to stop Spitzer and his cronies from this massive fraud.
If it's Giuliani against Clinton in 2008, the state of New York could be decisive. It will almost certainly be close and illegals could be the key to a Democratic victory.
A CNN poll taken on the Lou Dobbs segment said 93% of those responding believe this is to get more Democratic votes. It will also make it easier for illegals to book flights, endangering American security, and for illegals to have access to social programs.
Will Hillary Clinton come out now and denounce Spitzer's moves? Doubtful. Here's to hoping Spitzer can be impeached or stopped in some way.

Jindal Elected Governor in Louisiana
Interesting to see Bobby Jindal lected governor of Louisiana yesterday, with 54% of the vote . Jindal ran as Republican and is the first non-white governor ever elected in the South.
He is only 36 uears old and is the son of Indian immigrant parents and is Oxford educated. This is quite a coup for the GOP , not normally known as the party of minorities in America. Also interesting since many tried to blame the failings of government on George Bush and his Republican administration after hurricane Katrina. This certainly is a sure indication that Democratic governor Kathleen Blanco is getting her share of the blame.
